South Korean Football Association visits Ajax

The KFA (South Korean Football Association) visited Ajax last weekend. It was the follow-up to the Ajax visit to South Korea in June. Ajax and the KFA see opportunities to work together in the future and used the past few days for further introductions, among other things.

The Korean delegation, consisting of CEO Kyung-Hoon Park and head of technical affairs Jun-Heon Cho, was given a tour of the Johan Cruijff ArenA and De Toekomst sports complex on Friday. On Saturday, Ajax - SC Cambuur was on the programme, with the Koreans meeting Edwin van der Sar again. The general manager was also there in June in Korea. The weekend ended with a relaxing boat trip through the Amsterdam canals.

The KFA and Ajax have similar plans for the future. For instance, both ambitious organisations are working on projects centred around building new accommodation. Another shared ambition is to make even better use of the training courses for coaches.
Ajax has one of the finest youth training programmes in the world, and would like to spread this expertise as widely as possible. Working trips such as these are an excellent opportunity for the Amsterdam club to share its philosophy.

Park was happy with the invitation. "I would like to thank Ajax for their willingness in responding to our requests for working together. Ajax has the best development system in the world, I believe if our youth and coaches can learn from the Ajax way, the level of Korean football in the future will be further improved."
